The Valley Central Scholarship Council awards scholarships each year to graduating VCHS seniors. These scholarships are funded entirely through community events and the generosity of local donors.

  • Must be a graduating senior at Valley Central High School.

Recent Scholarship Awards

Thanks to our community's generosity, the amount awarded to graduating seniors has grown year over year:

  • $47,500 awarded in June 2026
  • $42,000 awarded in June 2025
  • $38,000 awarded in June 2024
  • $33,500 awarded in June 2023
  • $23,000 awarded in June 2022

How Recipients Are Selected

Any member of the Valley Central senior class may apply for a scholarship. Recipients are chosen through an anonymous selection process that weighs several factors:

  • Academic achievement
  • School and community involvement
  • Extracurricular participation
  • Reliability and dependability
  • A 300-word essay

Applications are available in the spring of senior year through this website.

What Scholarships Fund

Scholarships help graduating seniors cover the cost of college. Beyond direct awards, the Valley Central Scholarship Council also provides assistance with AP exam fees and SUNY Orange college course costs for VCHS seniors — support that begins well before graduation day.
